7h30-08h30: Begin your journey with a hotel pick-up between 7:30 – 8:30 AM from Hanoi, heading to Ninh Binh Province, located about 120 km south of the capital. Around 9:30 AM, enjoy a 20-minute break to relax before continuing to your first destination.
By 10:30 AM, arrive at Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the first capital of Vietnam in the 10th century. Explore this historical site and learn why the capital moved to Hanoi. Admire the impressive temples of King Dinh and King Le, built in the 17th century, and take in the ancient architecture and royal atmosphere that remains beautifully preserved.
At 11:45 AM, enjoy a hearty buffet lunch at a local restaurant, featuring authentic Vietnamese dishes including goat meat, fried rice, and vegetarian options.
After lunch, at 1:00 PM, head to Tam Coc, where you will embark on a peaceful 1.5-hour bamboo boat trip. Be mesmerized by the stunning natural scenery of paddy fields, limestone cliffs, rivers, and cave systems, all combining to form a landscape often called “Halong Bay on land.”
Around 2:30 PM, continue with a 45-minute cycling tour through the quiet local villages, offering a great opportunity to experience rural life in northern Vietnam and interact with the friendly locals.
By 3:30 – 4:00 PM, return to the shuttle bus and start the drive back to Hanoi. Expect to arrive by 6:30 PM, ending your memorable day trip to Hoa Lu and Tam Coc with a drop-off at your hotel.
